This book is a collection of lessons for first level degree students in the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Cagliari. The course covers various aspects of British history, language and institutions presented through short texts followed by a series of tasks designed to develop students’ reading, listening, writing and speaking skills. The graded texts are intended for B1/B2 level students and highlight various key grammar structures and focus on specific vocabulary commonly used in discussing the themes presented. The specific lexis that students encounter in this book will serve as a basis for extending their knowledge of specialised discourse in the second level degree courses offered by the faculty.
